An extensive look at everyone’s favourite Rattlesnake, Stone Cold Steve Austin, in this three disc DVD set that, surprisingly, could have contained a lot more! Im not a huge fan of Austin, but this DVD set is worth watching simply to relive the ‘good old days’ and just to see what an impact he had on the world of Sports Entertainment on the whole. There was a whole hell of a lot of content on this DVD that I had never seen before, I particularly enjoyed the Brian Pillman segments on disc 1 and I wish I had been watching back then! Austin talks about how he got started in the business and how he teamed up with Pillman, along with the story on him being fired and being picked up by Paul Hayman. Lots of interesting stuff on disc one especially for someone like me who didn’t get into wrestling until 2000, I enjoyed hearing about Austin’s ‘roots’. There are a lot of clips as well as matches and quite a lot of commentary from Austin.

Disc two is equally as good, with matches such as the tag team championship with Shawn Michaels, and then against Shawn Michaels at King Of The Ring in 97, both of which I had seen before on various HBK Compilation DVDs, but didn’t mind watching again. And it was interesting to hear Austin’s point of views on these matches instead of Shawn’s.

Disc three, however, has to be my favourite, starting in 1999; this is the Attitude era I remember tuning into when I started watching wrestling. I loved his bouts with The Rock and it was fantastic to be able to watch the matches again and hear how Stone Cold believes The Rock to be the one who brought out the best in him!

Austin talks candidly about his second Neck injury and his comeback having a match against Eddie Guerrero that Austin himself requested being ‘a huge fan of Eddie Guerrero’. As a fans point of view its fantastic to see this match once again, Eddie almost always delivered classics and this one was no exception even though Austin says he wasn’t 100% at the time, it doesn’t show that much!

Even though I am not a huge fan of Steve Austin, I think I would buy this DVD simply for the memories! The only somewhat strange thing about the whole thing is that we don’t hear from anyone BUT Austin. No comments from people who worked with him, no comments from McMahon or JR or even Bruce Pritchard who likes to get his face on almost all of these compilations! Just Austin, no idea why that is.

Im pretty sure they could have gotten another DVD’s worth of great stuff for this compilation, maybe they’re saving it for the next one!
For what it’s worth, Paps recommends you BUY IT!
