I’d like to start my review with a big Holy S**t!!! Having seen the Shawn Michaels ‘From The Vault’ double disc DVD I was very dubious as to the success of another DVD only 4 and a bit years after the last one and I wasn’t breaking my neck to get my copy as I should have been, me being the Michaels fan that I am. However.. I eat my words, stand corrected and bow down to the people that put this DVD together… it’s amazing!

Of course there are a lot of stories re-told that have been heard of many times before (the first time the Rockers got fired is one of them) but.. who cares?

There is so much footage, interviews, matches, promo’s, comments from colleagues & stories from friends and family that you really don’t mind hearing a few tales from the ‘good ole’ days’ that have already been told before!

You can see from the list of chapters and extras just how much content they have crammed onto this three-disc DVD set, the matches alone on discs two and three are probably worth twice the price you’re paying for the entire set of DVDs! There are a couple of famous matches such as the ‘Blood Bath’ between the Rockers and Doug Somers/Buddy Rose in the AWA and Shawn going from number one to winner at the 1995 Royal Rumble, but one thing I noticed immediately about this DVD set were the not so famous ones like The Rockers vs. Super Ninja & Ninja Go in the AWA and even a WCCW match between Shawn and Billy Jack Haynes! This is the kind of stuff these DVD’s need to have included, stuff that not a lot of people have seen before instead of re-hashing the old 1997 Screw Job or the Razor Ramon Ladder match or the Bret Hart Iron Man Match that everyone has seen. I was even presently surprised they included the WrestleMania rematch between HBK and Kurt Angle instead of the actual WrestleMania match, and the same with the John Cena rematch considering the WrestleMania one is on the John Cena DVD it was good to see them use different footage on this DVD.

The ‘Tell Me A Lie’ music video I guess had to be included (although Im pretty sure it was an Easter Egg on From The Vault) but there really isn’t a need to show this video ever again is there? It’s terrible!

Of course it’s always good to see someone ripping Hogan so I was pleased they included the ‘Larry King’ spoof in the extras on disc one! Shawn was fantastic in that segment, definatly shades of the old HBK creeping back in there too!

The Heartbreak Hotel segment is hilarious! I have seen only one other of these Heartbreak Hotels and the outfits alone are ridiculous enough that only Shawn could get away with wearing them!

On the other end of the scale, one of the extras titled Bible Teacher was not one I’d normally be interested in but for some reason decided to watch it. There are kids on here talking about Shawn as he is to them, in Bible study class. It’s quite touching to hear how much they look up to him and how much he has helped them.

One of my personal favourite feuds has to be the Shawn Michaels/Kurt Angle feud so it’s awesome to see they have not only included the rematch on this DVD but we also have a recap of the original WrestleMania match with comments from Triple H, Chris Jericho, Jim Ross and Shawn himself, (in the Extra titled ‘Who’s The Greatest Wrestler?’)

The ‘Brown Pants’  extra is hilarious, watch this segment first before you see ANYTHING else it’s awesome! Chris Jericho and Triple H’s take on the brown pants and ‘Dutch-Boy’ haircut that Shawn had in the first Elimination Chamber! It’s a 2 minute segment that will have you laughing your head off! It’s these little extra stories and segments that make this DVD unique and 50 times better than the previous Shawn Michaels DVD.

Some very heartfelt comments from Vince and other peers and we get a slight insight into the tantrums and drama’s Shawn had although still no great details, I guess it’s better than the book at least!! And I wasn’t aware of how much of a fan of Shawn that Chris Jericho is. It’s amazing to hear the way he talks about Shawn with such enthusiasm and respect!

I could talk about this DVD for a week (and I will if you ask me to!) I really can’t praise it enough. Yes its 30 quid… I guess that’s pricey for a DVD but it’s totally worth the money and then some! If you can’t afford it…ask for it for a birthday present… Easter present… promise to wash the car for a month or walk the dog for 6 weeks… beg, steal or borrow! (Wrestle-Zone UK, however, does not endorse begging or stealing of any kind please don’t sue me… it’s Gary’s website! ha-ha)

This DVD is available from Silvervision for only 17.99
