The winner of the 2010 Royal Rumble Edge opens up the evening talking about his injury, rehabilitation and his road to Wrestlemania 26. Sheamus soon interrupts and attempts to attack Edge, however Edge ends up on the better side after delivering a spear to the WWE champion Sheamus.
Edges return from injury has injected back a lot of life into the WWE and has got everyone talking about Wrestlemania again. Good mic skills on the part of both Sheamus and Edge it seems like Sheamus is beginning to get settled into the WWE and with the WWE universe fans are familiar with him and he is beginning to get a strong reaction from the fans. Overall the promo got the crowd fired up and ready for the rest of Raw.
Elimination Chamber (EC) WWE championship match Qualifier
Cody Rhodes vs John Cena
John Cena wins via an FU typically receiving strong/mixed support from the crowd throughout the match.
This match highlights the WWEs continued attempt to push the members of the legacy faction as Cody Rhodes has been put up in a match against fan-favourite and megastar John Cena. I think this is a good move it seems as if The Legacy has been created the replicate the success of legendary faction Evolution in creating household names and good talent. Randy Orton representing Triple HHH coaching the younger and upcoming superstars Cody Rhodes (Randy Orton) and Ted Dibiase (Batista)
Camera goes backstage to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and the Guest Host of this edition of Raw William Shatner. The Guest Host speaks on how he cant to see the confrontation between Mr McMahon and Bret “The Hitman” Hart later on in the night.
EC WWE championship match Qualifier Triple HHH vs Jack Swagger
In a good wrestling bout upcoming superstar and former ECW champion Jack Swagger held his own in a match arguably dominating the match against the Game Triple HHH. However The Game ended up winning the match though after using his experience to deliver a pedigree on the distracted Swagger. Jack Swagger is also slowly beginning to get heat from the crowd however until he develops more of a character and has a worthwhile feud it will transfer into anything big.
Camera goes backstage where Shawn Michaels is still reeling from his Royal Rumble defeat, but is advised by DX partner Triple HHH to look up and for other opportunities.
EC WWE championship match Qualifier Randy Orton vs Shawn Michaels
Randy Orton manages to pull a sudden and unexpected victory over HBK from a roll-up cradle pin.
Given that this was a headline match with two exceptional in ring entertainers it couldve been a lot better. It seemed as if the show was short for time considering the number on matches that were on the match card which couldve been why the match was short and seemed botched together.
I feel that Shawn Michaels may interfere in Title match with The Undertaker at the next main event causing him to lose his title. One way or another Taker is going to lose the title before Wrestlemania and the rematch between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels will happen.
Camera goes backstage to the locker room with Legacy partners Randy Orton and Ted Dibiase with Dibiase attempting to comfort and apologize for his loss against Sheamus for the WWE championship at the Royal Rumble.
EC WWE championship match Qualifier Mark Henry vs Ted Dibiase
Dibiase wins after working on the injured arm of Mark Henry and using this weakness to pick up the win.
Another clear push from the WWE towards another Legacy partner Ted Dibiase. However he may arguably be receiving a bigger push than partner Cody Rhodes as he actually managed to qualify for the Elimination Chamber, putting him in the main event picture and supporting my view on Ted Dibiase being the better all round wrestler when put in comparison to fellow Legacy partner Cody Rhodes.
Camera goes backstage where The Miz and The Big Show are interrupted by CM Punk and The Straight Edge Society and by The Guest Host William Shatner who sets a Triple Threat tag team match between DX, The Straight Edge Society and The Miz and The Big Show for next weeks edition of Monday Night raw.
This announcement and the match alone got the crowd fired up and it seems like its going to be something worthwhile watching. Look out for that match next week!
EC WWE championship match Qualifier The Big Show vs Kofi Kingston
Kofi Kingston manages to win the match and progress on to the Elimination chamber via a disqualification after The Big Show seemed to accidentally deliver what looked like a legit punch to the referee of the match. Another referee had come in but the damage had been done and The Big Show was disqualified.
Was unfortunate to see the match end in a disqualification as many matches as of late have been ending in this way possibly highlighting how the WWE is lacking the flare and creativity to create good finishes like they used to.
Bret “The Hitman” Hart returns to confront Mr McMahon
There was good drama and chemistry in the ring between these these two as they continued to trade harsh words with each other. It then became very interesting when unexpectedly Batista interfered on Behalf of Mr McMahon and ambushed Bret Hart allowing for Mr McMahon to return Bret Hart the favour of the Montreal Screwjob by spitting in his face.
As stated before good drama and tension between Mr McMahon and Bret Hart it was also entertaining to see Bret Hart take a few shots at Mr McMahon, it wouldve been even better if he managed to deliver the sharpshooter to Mr McMahon. The fact that Batista interfered surprised everyone and he surprisingly received a loud pop from the crowd. This was a good way to end the show as it leaves you wondering what this rivalry is going to escalade to and why, just why Batista had interfered on the behalf of Vince McMahon.
