My favourite pay per view on the calendar.. you can keep your WrestleMania’s and your SummerSlam’s THIS Is the one I’ll always shell out the pounds for; The Royal Rumble! Of course the highlight is always the 30 man Battle Royal but some of the undercard this year were really good matches too!
Christian vs ‘Big Zeke’ w/ William Regal, opens the night’s action with an all action bout for the ECW Championship. The 309lb Ezekiel having beaten Matt Hardy CM Punk and Kane to get the right to face Christian in this match for the title held by Christian for over 6 months at this point! Christian’s ‘Peeps’ are out in force for this one giving him 100% support from start ton finish, making this a great opener for the pay per view and getting the crowd fired up and ready for more!

A slightly surreal backstage segment ends with The Great Khali singing ‘Who Let The Dog’s Out’ for some reason… and then we see Cody Rhodes trying to convince Randy Orton that he’s his BFF and Teddy is a snake!
The Miz vs MVP is another great match, even though I’m not a huge fan of MVP, The Miz is.. obviously, awesome!
Ted and Orton are backstage while Ted tries to convinve Randy he’s his new BFF and Cody is a snake…

Orton vs Sheamus for the title is good, not one of my favourite matches on the card, I’m still warming to Sheamus even now. Matt Striker on commentary informs us that the WWE title has never changed hands in Atlanta so would luck be on Orton’s side tonight? (They must NEVER allow Sheamus to step outdoors during daylight hours! Seriously! I thought I was white!)

McCool vs Mickie James is.. a match. As is Rey vs Undertaker. I admit to skipping these and going on to the Rumble.
Before the Rumble match starts Kane is backstage with HBK telling him he’s got a death wish having an obsession with ‘his brother;. Triple H comes in and they have a little heart to heart, but Shawn informs him that he and The Undertaker is meant to be! (I miss HBK already!)
The 30 man Battle Royal is of course, the highlight of the pay per view and is fantastic! My kids and I always sit and try to guess who’s coming out next (and always get it wrong! lol) I just love this match, you never know who’s going to come out on top and that makes it special! Surprises, twists and turns, lots of ‘mark out’ moments and a fantastic CM Punk segment that just made the night complete! I love it!
