The Invasion angle ran for over half the year in 2001 and I have never seen anything as good before or since then! The pay per views were exciting and became events that everyone looked forward to, I wish we could have this golden year back!
Survivor Series was the culmination of six months of tallent fighting between brands, jumping from the good guys to the bad guys and making us guess every week who would be the next one to change sides!
Some awesome matches to re-live on these dvds, starting with Survivor Series (and I LOVE the ‘Control’ Theme by Puddle Of Mudd!) we see classic bouts such as Christian vs Al Snow, (You just have to mention Al Snow to me and I get a huge grin on my face!!) Regal & Tajiri and the awesome match between Edge & Test to unify the US Championship and the Intercontinental title; and if you know me you’ll know that putting Edge on any DVD is enough to keep me happy! The match isn’t the best match Edge ever had but it’s entertaining and nice to remember Andrew ‘Test’ Martin in what probably was one of the highest points of his carreer; if you ignore the awful pre-match promo between him and Stacey Kiebler of course. (she makes Jessica Simpson loook like a good actress!)
The pre-match interview with Edge is typical baby-face Edge goofing around and doing impressions of Test, funny stuff but I have to say Im so glad he got better on the mic as time went on! lol (And I did mark out to hear Edge’s old Rob Zombie theme tune again!)
Dudley’s vs The Hardys in a Steel Cage! If that doesn’t scream MEMORY LANE to you then I don’t know what will! I can quite honestly say that after seeing all of these Tagged Classics, 2001 is my FAVOURITE all time year of wrestling… EVER! This is an awesome match and these guys take some truely crazy bumps, brilliant to watch again!
The main event for the pay per view is a Winner Take All match – WWF or The Alliance stays in business depending on whcich team wins for their side! Shane McMahon, Booker T, Rob Van Dam, Kurt Angle & Stone Cold Steve Austin for The Alliance vs. Big Show, Kane, Undertaker, Chris Jericho & The Rock for the WWF! Classsic! Classic! Classic! Do I need to even talk about this match? Just read the list of guys IN it and you can tell without reading any more that this is an immense match up with some of the greatest of their time all in the ring at the SAME time; just hearing the entrace music for The Rock gave me goosebumps before he even came thorugh the curtains! (unfortunatly Booker T creeps into this match somehow and Big Show being the best of any time at all is questionable but.. you get where Im coming from!)
Special feature is Edge! What more could I ask for in a DVD?!

Vengeance 2001 sees matches such as Van Dam vs The Undertaker, Angle vs Austin & Jericho Vs The Rock and the awesome brother vs brother Hardys match (with Lita as special guest referee!) The opening bout sees a long haired Christian teaming with Test to take on Albert and Scotty. So sue me I miss The Worm!!
Edge vs Regal is a classic for the Intercontinental Championship! I Love both of these guys and they worked awesomely together in his feud, the stuff I remember was some of the funniest skits I’ve ever seen! The pre-match interview with Regal is hillarious! I love his very ‘British-ness’ and just as he walks away he calls Coachman a ‘Silly Pillock’, I laughed out loud! (And King and JR use it a few times during commentary!)
Of course Vengeance 2001 will forever be known as ‘The night Chris Jericho beat The Rock and Stone Cold to become the first ever Undisputed Champion!’ So yeah I just spoiled the main event, but if you didn’t know that already then you were living on another planet!
