Extreme Rules 2010 was the second pay per view under this name and took place on April 25, 2010 at the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. The Show kicks off with Triple H’s music blasting through the arena only no Hunter appears. Backstage Sheamus is seen attacking The Game while referee’s try and pull them apart. The Celtic Warrior inflicts some serious damage on Triple H and their street fight is now in question for later in the pay per view.
Miz & Big Show are the Unified Tag Team Champions and they have to run a gauntlet of Tag Teams, if they lose, they have to have a championship match against the winning team.
CM Punk vs Rey Mysterio is the Hair match that should have happened at WrestleMania. This is a really good match, I’m not a fan of Mysterio but both guys do a great job. Will Punk lose his precious hair at Extreme Rules?
The Strap Match between former tag team partners JTG and Shad Gaspard is nothing to write home about, the two ex- Cryme Tyme friends get to have at it in the ring for the first time.
At this point Todd Grisham informs everyone that it’s very unlikely that Triple H will be competing in the street fight scheduled for this pay per view as he has ‘nerve damage’.
Jack Swagger vs Randy Orton isn’t as ‘Extreme Rules’ as it could be. I think it’s situations like this when the WWE’s PG obsession really does hurt the product. A Pay Per View named Extreme Rules that has ONE Extreme Rules match up should really not be aiming for an under 12 audience!
Sheamus is about to be announced winner of the street fight by default when Hunter storms out of the locker room in true super hero fashion he will compete tonight with one arm!
Edge is interviewed in the locker room by Josh Matthews, he says he guarentee’s he’s not going to let Jericho escape the cage!
The Extreme Make over match is almost barable.
Jericho is backstage with Josh Matthews being interviewed about his previous loss to NXT Rookie Heath Slater. He talks about himself a lot and says he’s going to end Edge’s carreer.
The much anticipated cage match is up next, and with the two competitiors being two of my ultimate favourites I don’t see how it could have failed to entertain. Edge limps to the ring having been attacked by Jericho a few times over the previous weeks. He starts to get his revenge immediatly by attacking Jericho outside of the cage before the bell has even rung.
Jericho tries numerous times in the early moments of the match to escape the cage but Edge keeps dragging him back inside for more beating! Definatly match of the night!
Cena vs Batista is better than expected. Batista is awful but for once, watchable. Barriers and announce tables are destroyed (and the end of this match will now be included in the 101 uses of Duct Tape list!) in what is probably the most ‘extreme’ match of the night (Which says nothing!)

My one gripe about this PPV is it’s name. Either stop trying to aim for the under 12’s or change the name of the show. Extreme Rules has some excellent matches but too many rules and not enough Extreme!
