WWE Raw Review 15 03 2010 By Timothy Lobban

The show is opened up by former WWE champion and Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin speaking on tonights edition of Monday Night Raw and Wrestlemania. He is then interrupted by WWE chapion no 1 contender John Cena who gets ready for his match against The Big Show.

Stone Cold as expected got over with the crowd and got them properly ready for Monday Night Raw.

John Cena vs The Big Show

Big Show seals the win with a big punch to Cena, however we must bear in mind that this happened after the minor distractions to John Cena that were provided by WWE champion Batista.

In comparison to the match they had at Wrestlemania XX, it is a step down. In a sense it puts the wrestling style of 2004 in contrast with what it is now. Back then it was more intensive, action-packed, technical and lengthier. Whereas now they are alot more watered down, shorter and entertainment focused.

Evan Bourne vs Sheamus

Before the match even gets to start Sheamus unleashes a fury of beatings to Evan Bourne, maybe as a way of sending out a message to Wrestlemania opponent Triple HHH.

The short segment he cut about Triple HHH was impressive his mic skills are beginning to develop, which is why I believe the match will get more of a following and interest from the WWE universe as the weeks edge by.

Camera goes backstage to Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho speaking about tonights matches for Monday Night Raw and Wrestlemania.

Kelly Kelly vs WWE Divas Champion Maryse

In a match that lasted for about 2 minutes Maryse ends up as the winner after a French Kiss DDT.

After the match interferences took place, suggesting a rivalry, storyline or angle be sure to look out for it at Wrestlemania. Smackdown divas vs Raw Divas?

Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho

Shawn Michaels wins the match via a count out, but before Edge surprisingly appears on Raw and delivers a spear to Chris Jericho.

It seems like the match between Jericho and Edge at Wrestlemania is getting really over with the crowd. The spears being delivered to Jericho is becoming a familiar site and one the fans are definitely warming up to. The match itself looked to be a good one but was unfortunately cut short by Jericho walking away from the ring.

Triple HHH vs Randy Orton

DQ because of intereference by Sheamus, Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase at different intervals who ambush and attack Triple HHH and Randy Orton. These stood as opportunities to send out warnings to their opponents for Wrestlemania.

Batista vs Kofi Kingston

Batista delivers a powerbomb to his opponent to seal the win against Kofi Kingston.

Given that this match took place I cant help but wonder on what happened to Kofi Kingstons big push? Hes not even in the MITB ladder match. I think he needs to be drafted to Smackdown his wrestling style is more suited to the technical and high-flying orientated Smackdown. Raw is for the more entertaining and charismatic characters, Smackdown is for the edgier more technical in ring wrestlers. Something needs to happen or he will continue to be used as a jobber on Raw.

Contract Signing between Vince McMahon and Bret Hart for Wrestlemania 26 Match

Interesting contract signing, Bret Hart ends up telling Vince McMahon that hes not and never was injured, it was just a way of making sure Vince McMahon accepted the match. He ends of attacking Vince with the caste.

This match has alot of drama leading up to it, yet for some reason its still difficult for me to take it seriously and look at Bret Hart in the same light.
