Mae Young Appears in Segment with Zack Ryder, Interesting Trivia on Ziggler, Match Pulled from WWE’s TLC Pay-Per-View?, More

November 30, 2011   ·   0 Comments

The trend of RAW being re-written several times on the day of the show continued yesterday in South Carolina.

WWE called Mae Young to the arena yesterday morning and she was backstage last night but not used on TV, because of re-writes. Brodus Clay was a victim of re-writes again as his debut was pushed back. As of yesterday afternoon, Clay was still scheduled to squash John Morrison but that was changed at the last minute.

Regarding Triple H and Kevin Nash, Triple H was at RAW as he always is but Nash reportedly was not there.

Mae did however appear in a backstage video with Zack Ryder and Eve Torres on WWE’s website. The video shows Ryder getting Eve to sign his US Title petition when Mae walks up and fist pumps with him.

– WWE terms trending worldwide on Twitter last night during RAW were CM Punk, Zack Ryder, WWWYKI, Daniel Bryan, Alicia Fox, The Miz and The Bella Twins.

– In some trivia, CM Punk’s WWE Title win over Alberto Del Rio in Madison Square Garden was the first WWE Title change in the building since the 2002 Survivor Series when Big Show won the belt from Brock Lesnar.

On a related note, Dolph Ziggler doing double duty at WWE’s Survivor Series and Vengeance makes him only the second person in history to do that on back-to-back pay-per-views. The first was Bret Hart, who wrestled three times at the 1993 King of the Ring and then twice at SummerSlam.

– There was talk this weekend that Kevin Nash vs. Triple H has been moved from TLC to the Royal Rumble pay-per-view or scrapped altogether. We should know more this afternoon.

Speaking to SLAM! Wrestling, Maryse Ouellet is looking forward to the future as she had been looking to leave the professional wrestling industry for a while.

“I just want better and bigger and I want to be performing on the big screen, I am working on a big project called House Of Maryse, which will be launching in summer 2012. It will be my clothing and jewelery selection and will be available in more than 500 stores in the U.S. and online at www.houseofmaryse.com,” she says.

“I knew in my heart that I wanted to leave WWE for a long time. I’m a business woman. I need to build and grow and I didn’t have any interest in the WWE anymore. I was like, next!

“My manager was happy when he heard of my release. He said to me, ‘Now we can start working on the serious stuff.’ I’m ready for a new chapter in my life. I have been with the WWE for six fantastic years, but now I want to do more.”

Ouellet, however, is not ruling out a possible return to the sports entertainment empire.

“I would go back to WWE, for a million dollars and a main event match at Wrestlemania,” she says.

“But, no TNA.”

Ouellet also comments on her introduction to professional wrestling, auditioning for the 2006 Diva Search, her WWE persona, working with Ted DiBiase, and more. The article is available here.
