-On Friday evening, WWE updated their report on Chris Jericho with the following:
“WWE Superstar Chris Jericho has been suspended for 30 days due to an irresponsible act of denigrating the Brazilian flag at a WWE live event in São Paulo on May 24.”

— WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels wrote the following on Twitter about the Chris Jericho flag incident in Brazil:

“I’ll stand behind @IAmJericho any day of the week & twice on Sunday…what’s the big ‘E’ stand for in WWE anyway!!”

– Good friend of Jericho and former WWE star Lance Storm also commented:

“Thoughts on @IAmJericho He didn’t do anything that hasn’t been done a million times in wrestling. Wrong place & times change.”

— After the incident in Brazil the other night, Chris Jericho did not immediately return home to the United States. He flew onto Ecuador with the WWE crews and just flew back into Miami this morning. He wrote:

“Just landed in Miami and its the longest walk to passport control ever! Like I’m talking I need a staff and a donkey…. Longest immigration line in the world. The last five days have been like a really bad video game-“Worst Business Trip Ever!” by Activision”

– PWInsider backs up TMZ’s report that WWE officials did not know of Chris Jericho kicking the Brazilian flag before it happened. The incident was something improvised by Jericho on the spot to draw heel heat.

Internal reaction to the Chris Jericho flag incident last week among the WWE talents was they were more shocked and upset than anything else. While it was a big deal online, behind the scene it was not

The feeling was that Jericho was just doing his job but WWE had to suspend him because he violated the local laws in Brazil and because the incident could be used against the company in the future.

On Twitter Jericho still insists that he is done with this run in WWE, suspension or not.
