 – As noted before, WWE officials have had talks about Chris Jericho winning the Royal Rumble this year. There was an idea suggested this past weekend where Jericho won’t speak on RAW until after the Rumble. This would see Jericho give his big victory speech, speak for the first time since returning and likely call out WWE Champion CM Punk for WrestleMania 28.

While this likely won’t happen, Simon Kelly Inoki, a promoter in Japan, is trying to put together a Brock Lesnar vs. Fedor Emelianenko bout – but it would be a pro wrestling match instead of MMA. Inoki said they are trying to get Lesnar to wrestle for the IGF promotion and are also trying to get Fedor to debut in pro wrestling.

The Headbangers are not giving up on a potential WWE return and have posted a new video on YouTube, responding to WWE Tag Team Champions Air Boom’s video on WWE’s website where they talked about looking for new contenders. Here’s the video:

– HBO’s Eastbound & Down, which returns on February 19th, will be bringing back Will Farrell’s Ric Flair inspired character. The character is said to be a lot wilder for the new season.

– A new video on Scott Hall’s YouTube channel features Larry Zbysko doing an independent match in Florida. The video opens up with a graphic that reads:

“Quick update on Scott Hall, he’s doing very well in rehab and will be evaluated for his release soon. WWE has been monitoring his stay so you may see him on another channel soon.”

– As noted before, WrestleMania 29 looks to be held at Cowboys Stadium in Texas.

The idea was recently brought up within WWE to have WrestleMania 30 held in Texas and not New York City at Madison Square Garden. That idea was shot down because the feeling is that WrestleMania has to be held at MSG every 10 years.

– Most people within WWE are expecting Ric Flair to show up at the WWE Hall of Fame this year, regardless if TNA lets him or not.

It’s believed within WWE that officials have already been “tipped off” that Flair will be attending based on the fact he was included in the video package and press release.

– Triple H attended New York Giants’ practice Wednesday as they prepared for their NFL Playoff game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. According to PopTheCrowd.com, Triple H was in town with WWE officials to finalize a deal to bring WrestleMania 29 or WrestleMania 30 to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

— The 16th annual ECWA Super 8 tournament takes place on April 7, 2012 at the Greater Newark Boys and Girls Club in Newark, Delaware. Tommaso Ciampa won last year’s event.

— CM Punk has been announced to appear at Wizard World’s Philadelphia Comic Con on June 2, 2012 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Former WWE Diva Melina, WWE Hall of Famer “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase and TNA Women’s Knockout Champion Gail Kim are also scheduled to appear at the event.
