WWE officials also had several scenarios planned out for Randy Orton to win in his hometown of St. Louis.

– Christian is reportedly ready to return to the ring but WWE officials decided to keep him off the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

– One of the ideas WWE officials were discussing for the Royal Rumble would have seen John Cena enter, win the match and earn a title shot at WrestleMania 28. The storyline would have then saw Cena be forced to choose between a WWE Title match and the match against The Rock.

– A key player in the WrestleMania XIV match between “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels, boxing legend “Iron” Mike Tyson is the latest inductee into WWE’s 2012 Hall of Fame class.

The WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on March 31 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. Edge, The Four Horsemen (Arn Anderson, Barry Windham, JJ Dillon, Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard) and Mil Mascaras have already been announced as inductees.

— The Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant chain has stopped airing WWE pay-per-view events due to the price of the show per location being raised significantly. The price to air the pay-per-view was raised from $200 to $700.

WWE decided to have Sheamus win the 2012 WWE Royal Rumble to throw a curve ball at fans who were expecting Chris Jericho to win. Michael Cole’s line about which title will Sheamus challenge for at WrestleMania 28 was designed to make fans believe the storyline were just shaken up big time.

WWE officials are high on the way Sheamus presents himself and have had plans to push him hard for the past year.
