RAW Rating Causes Panic, Backstage News on Randy Orton, Possible IC & US Title Plans, Chris Jericho Responds to Paul Heyman, No Way Out Theme, Triple H, Sean Mooney

- While Randy Orton’s suspension was the big news on Wednesday, what had everyone in a panic at WWE headquarters was the low 2.7 RAW Supershow rating.

– Speaking of Orton, the WWE writing team didn’t find out about his suspension until it was announced online. They were working on an Orton vs. Dolph Ziggler feud when the suspension came down.

No word yet on when Orton failed a Wellness test but it appears some in the company knew about it days before. Speculation is that John Cena was added to SmackDown tapings because they knew Orton was on his way out for 60 days. At the same time, WWE booked Orton strong on Monday night as he did an in-ring segment with The Miz and laid him out.

– The idea of merging the Intercontinental Title and the United States Title was being worked on a few weeks back. Sources say the WWE Title and the World Heavyweight Title won’t be merged because WWE needs one major title on each of the RAW and SmackDown tours.

Former WWF announcer Sean Mooney is now the co-anchor for NBC Tucson, Arizona affiliate KVOA. Mooney also runs a production company in the area.

– Trainer Joe DeFranco has published part 2 of his article on Triple H’s pre-WrestleMania 28 workouts.

– The official theme song for WWE’s No Way Out pay-per-view is “Unstoppable” by Charm City Devils.

– Chris Jericho wrote the following on Twitter in response to the rant from Paul Heyman:

“I agree with @HeymanHustle diatribe and I would like to add one more piece of advice. To really make it in this business…. you have to be willing to take a chance. And if that pisses some people off than so be it! Stop being so nice. Nice doesn’t cut it.”

— Two weeks after being involved in a multi-car accident in Las Vegas, Nevada, Rosa Mendes returns to managing Epico and Primo at tonight’s Raw live event in Alexandria, Louisiana.

“Packing for 13 days on the road. Can’t wait to see my Mendesluverz and for them to see me. AW took me shopping! I love $$$,” she wrote Thursday on Twitter. “But I love looking beautiful a lot more. Wait till you see me on Monday:).” She added Friday, “On my way to Alexandria!!! So ready to shake my thang lol;).”

Mendes suffered serious whiplash from the accident but no other major injuries were reported.

— CM Punk is reportedly scheduled to wrestle Big Show at SummerSlam.

The two previously faced off at the pay-per-view event in 2010, with Big Show defeating Punk, Joseph Mercury and Luke Gallows in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match. This year’s show takes place August 19 at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California.
