He electrified a generation of sports entertainment fans with his brash style, superb athleticism, and uproarious interviews. He held the WWE Championship a record seven times, and was known for legendary battles with ”Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Triple H, Mick Foley, Undertaker, and more. And at the peak of his popularity, he made a move to conquer a new industry, becoming an enormous movie star. Now, he’s back in WWE, ready to main event the biggest WrestleMania in history, ”The People’s WrestleMania.” In the exciting buildup to WrestleMania XVIII, fans can, for the first time ever on DVD, relive the exciting life and times of the Rock. Packed with brand new interviews as well as a selection of the Rock’s biggest career-spanning bouts, moments, and promos, this DVD/Blu-Ray set will electrify every member of Team Bring It!
FINALLY! (yes cliche I know, but who cares?!) The Rock has another DVD set released! This time two years ago did you ever think you’d see the day? I didn’t. So being a HUGE fan of old Rocky I was most impressed at the news of his 5th DVD tribute and even more impressed when my review copy landed on my doormat!
Almost 7 hours of The Rock at his finest! The set features a documentary style first disc, (As is the norm for these WWE DVD’s) charting his rise to success; we may have seen a lot of this before but I’m complaining. The disc mentions his family, obviously he has a great family legacy in the wrestling business, but I was a little disapointed that we didn’t get to hear about this more in depth.
We have around 2 hours of documentary on the first disc and then 10 matches over the next 2. A few of which I hadn’t seen before so really enjoyed watching them.
It’s obviously a must for any fans of The Rock. Even my 9 year old son who, up until last year, couldn’t remember The Rock other than in the Tooth Fairy enjoyed this disc set!
Sadly we aren’t treated to a lot of The Rock’s famous promo segments. There are three or four on the disc but come on! The Rock has had some classic promo’s and exchanges of words with other wrestlers/interviewers over the years and I’m sure they could have filled another two discs with that stuff!
Other than that. the set is fantastic! If you’re a Rocky fan and it’s not on your shelf then shame on you!  It’s about time it WAS!
