WWE TLC 18th December, 2011

TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs (2011) was the third annual TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs professional wrestling pay-per-view. It ‘s origional air date was December 18, 2011 at the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland

Opening with the WWE version of ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas’ which is actually quite entertaining (..’All through the arena, not a superstar was stirring, not even John Cena!’ – I laughed!)
The first match was the immensely popular Zack Ryder wrestling for the US Cahmpionship against Jack Swagger. The crowd were mental-hot for Ryder (I think he has done a fantastic job oif putting himself in the spotlight!) The match was a great opener and really got the crowd into the event.
Tage team match next sees Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston take on Epico and Primo for the Tag Titles. Decent match with a lot of high flying moves as you would expect. This was obviously before Bourne was suspended for drug use AGAIN (Idiot!) And as much as I love watching Primo and Epico…. I do wish Carlito could be thrown into that mix somehow!
Santa Teddy is seen backstage in his office decorating his tree with Hornswoggle dressed as some sort of elf and protesting about being called a little boy. Well, he does have a beard!
I’m bored with Randy Orton. I’m bored with his monotone promos and I’m bored with his matches. Sue me. BUT I do however love the Brit; Wade Barrett so the next match wasn’t a complete loss.
The Bellas *vom* are seen backstage sitting on Santa Teddy’s knee and arguing about who is the better twin.. I could solve that for them.. they’re both crap!
Jack Swagger shows up to complain about something and Teddy offers to have him sit on his knee! ( Something not right about that really…) Sheamus then comes in and tells a story about one of his cousins in Ireland (Those stories are quite funny!) then Teddy makes the match Swagger Vs Sheamus for later in the night.
Divas match next up. Kelly Kelly Vs Beth Phoenix, and I really can’t stand KK so I’m going to FF this match!
Del Rio is backstage yelling at Ricado about not having his car ready when Miz shows up. They have a back and fortha nd end up nose to nose trading insults and Del Rio says Miz couldn’t even take Ricardo!
Having been attacked earlier backstage by Cody Rhodes, Booker T makes his way to the ring to face Cody but as he is half way down the ramp Cody again attacks him from behind. Security and refs get involved and separate the two men and Booker is led backstage to be examined by the doctors.
Triple H Vs. Kevin Nash in a sledgehammer match (I knew there was a reason I didn’t buy this when it was on PPV!) is next up and it’s full of what you’d expect from Triple H and a decrepid Nash. Not much but brute force and thuggery. Next!
Backstage again we have a CM Punk interview. This guy has been on fire for months now and this is no exception I love Punk promos! Unfortunately we have to deal with that plank of wood, John Laurenitus as well.
Jack Swagger vs Sheamus is an average match. Both guys know how to put on a good wrestling show and the crowd were very much behind Sheamus.
Josh interviews Big Show backstage and Show is pumped up for his up coming chair match against Mark Henry. (Shoot me now!) Said match is up next, and while I do like Big Show, Mark Henry has been flogged to death and I still can’t stand to watch him.
Booker T is furious backstage about the two attacks on him by Cody Rhodes. Josh tries to convince him not to go out and try to have his match with Cody when he’s not fit to do so.
Cosy Vs. Booker for the Intercontinental Championship is finally up next and Cody is pretty confident as he comes to the ring. The match isn’t the squash you’d expect and Booker gets some good offence in. Crowd are very much being the legend for the whole match.
main event of the night is the Triple Threat Tables, Ladders & Chairs match for the WWE Championship. CM Punk vs Alberto Del Rio Vs. The Miz in what is the match of the night. I always enjoy TLC matches and while this won’t go down in history as the greatest of all time, it was still a good and entertaining match and the audience in attendance were really into it. Lots of crazy stunts as you’d expect and the outcome wasn’t so bad either.
The only extra on the disc is Josh Matthews interviewing Daniel Bryan. Not something that would make me buy the DVD!
Overall it’s worth buying if you’re collectiong the PPV’s. If you’ve seen it on TV however I’d give the DVD a miss. There’s nothing in the extras that would attract people to buy it and I can’t stress enough how much the WWE need to pick up on that!
