Top Title Feud Discussed for Cody Rhodes, News on CM Punk’s Future, Randy Orton’s Skull Punt Banned, Alex Shelley Reportedly Contacted By WWE and More

A fan suggested to Randy Orton on Twitter that he deliver his trademark punt kick to Chris Jericho’s skull after Jericho hit him with 3 codebreakers on Monday’s RAW. While Orton is sure to exact revenge on Jericho, he won’t be skull punting any time soon:

“The punt has been banned. ‘Concussional’ awareness.”

Cody Rhodes indicated earlier this week on Twitter that he would be taking some time off. This is not the case as Cody will appear on this week’s WWE SmackDown to respond to Christian defeating him for the Intercontinental Title at Over the Limit. No word yet if Cody will take time off after the next pay-per-view.

News came out this weekend that over the past few months, WWE officials were discussing Cody for a potential feud against WWE Champion CM Punk.

This comes after we learned that officials almost put the WWE Title on Daniel Bryan at Over the Limit but that idea was nixed.

While one could assume that officials aren’t too sure of CM Punk as WWE Champion, sources indicate that WWE still has major plans for him through the rest of the year.

– We noted earlier that the RAW brand was having trouble getting to Brazil for WWE’s debut there tonight because of flight problems. Some of the SmackDown crew is also experiencing travel issues this morning. Tyler Reks wrote:

“Man another bad travel week. Missed the connection cause the 1st flight was delayed. Flying standby & may not get home till 10pm ET.”

“From 1st class to economy – at least I’m not stuck in Philly till 4pm though. Now, who am I gonna fight for leg and elbow space…”

In an update on the Brazil issue, word is that WWE was able to get some of their talents re-scheduled on another flight to the country. Officials are trying to get the Sao Paulo show re-scheduled for Thursday just in case they can’t get the entire crew there in time.

– The following matches are advertised for this weekend’s WWE SmackDown events in Mexico: Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Alberto Del Rio with Mick Foley as special referee, Randy Orton vs. Kane in a No Holds Barred Match, Big Show vs. The Great Khali, Christian vs. Cody Rhodes, Santino Marella vs. Jack Swagger, Layla vs. Natalya, Drew McIntyre vs. Ezekiel Jackson, Yoshi Tatsu vs. Jinder Mahal plus tag team action with Sin Cara and Tyson Kidd vs. Camacho and Hunico.

– We noted the other day that WWE registered “RAW ACTIVE” as a trademark for the name of their online chatrooms when RAW goes three hours in July. They have also registered “#RAWACTIVE” for use with their clothing line.

WWE is officially rescheduling tonight’s first-ever show from Sao Paolo, Brazil due to travel issues. After several superstars (including CM Punk & Chris Jericho) complained on Twitter about their Tuesday night flights to Brazil being cancelled, WWE has booked new flights for the RAW crew and they’ll arrive in Brazil late tonight.

Luckily, WWE had a day off on this week’s tour of South America and the company’s Sao Paolo show will now take place on Thursday. WWE will then move on to Ecuador on Friday.

The following are tweets from WWE superstars about the travel issues and finally flying out to Brazil today:

R-Truth: “Plane doors are closed and we are rolling towards the runway! It’s on like a pot of neck bones! Here we come brazil!!”

Chris Jericho: “Ok here we go again….Headed to Brazil and the show will now be TOMORROW night, May 24! Here we come Sao Paulo….”

Zack Ryder: “Going to braZil today…I think.”

CM Punk: “Brazil. Take two.”

– Trish Stratus will gracing the cover of the new issue of Inside Fitness Magazine. This will be the 90th magazine cover for the former WWE diva.

– WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and R-Truth appear at Aaron’s 3051 Springhill Ave. Mobile, Alabama on Saturday, June 2 beginning at 4:00 p.m. Call 251-473-2225 for more information.

— WWE Hall of Famer Drew Carey turns 54 years old Wednesday.

— Alex Shelley, whose contract with TNA Wrestling is set to expire, has been contacted by WWE officials. A deal, however, has not been reached. Prior to being contacted, he was looking to work in Japan and possibly Dragon Gate USA.
