– The latest issue of WWE Magazine looks back at the slew of grappling greats that debuted ten years ago—John Cena, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Brock Lesnar and Batista. In their write-up for Batista, WWE predicts that fans haven’t seen the last of The Animal.

WWE states: “Although he left the company in 2010, many see the departure as a temporary one, and it’s simply a matter of time before The Animal rises again.”

— Ticketmaster.com is holding a pre-sale for the March 20 SmackDown taping at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey from Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. through Friday at 11:59 p.m. The pre-sale code is ROCKWWE.

— WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross joined the Oklahoma City Thunder broadcast team during the second quarter of tonight’s NBA game between the Thunder and Portland Trail Blazers. He has changed his trademark look as he was shown on television with a grey goatee.

WWE is hoping that the new stage and set will help give live events a bigger feel to them. WWE’s website has a new video and photos up promoting the new set. ESPN’s Robert Flores appears in the video endorsing the new look for live events.

– Former WWE Superstar Dave Batista noted on Twitter that he recently wrapped filming on “The Man With Iron Fists.” The movie was directed by rapper RZA and written by Eli Roth. Russell Crowe and others star alongside Batista. Batista also confirmed that he has been offered a role in Universal’s “Chronicles of Riddick” sequel with Vin Diesel.

– RAW Superstar Santino Marella announced that he will be appearing on Friday’s SmackDown. He wrote last night:

“be sure to catch smackdown this Friday, i am smeared all over it, or maybe its all lathered up in me, hmmm”

– Former WWE Divas Jillian Hall and Melina will be wrestling each other for the World Wrestling Fan Xperience promotion in the Philippines this February. Other stars advertised for WWFX’s Champions Showcase Tour 2012 include MVP, Carlito, Rhino, Chris Masters, Shelton Benjamin, Snitsky and John Morrison.

– The Ultimate Warrior took a shot at Kevin Nash this week on his Twitter. A fan asked Warrior why doesn’t he dye his hair and “pull a Kevin Nash return.” Warrior replied:

“I’m not a dickhead who thrives on stealing the limelight from young guys.”

– Mark Henry has been getting high praise backstage for working injured through the WWE live event tours and TV tapings. Henry has been in pain for some time and while WWE has offered him some time off, The World’s Strongest Man has turned it down.
