Best Of Raw - 15th Anniversary Chapters -
Bobby Heenan & ex-announcer Sean Mooney who talks about Bobby Heenan's role on the first ever Raw (You have to see it to believe it and it is very funny!) and of course a few comments from the boss, Mr McMahon. The parking lot brawl is excellently done & something I have never seen before! Razor Ramon Vs The Kid has some hilarious commentary which gives you a reason to watch it because it is a terrible match! Shawn Michaels Vs Marty Jannetty was voted the 1993 match of the year. Michaels issued an open challenge for his Intercontinental title, the promo is ridiculously over the top as only Shawn can do and he's in for a huge surprise when a hooded and 'disguised' Marty Jannetty gets into the ring and reveals he wants to take Shawn up on his challenge! The two go on to have a fantastic match up; a lot of 'today’s' talent could do worse than taking a page from the Michaels/Jannetty book and I can see why it was voted the match of 1993! By July of 1994 the Kid had evolved into the 1-2-3 Kid and he still sucked! Taking on Bret Hart in a WWF title match, a very young (I believe he was 20-21 years old at the time) X-Pac is quite an amusing sight to see! Undertaker had lost a casket match to Yokozuna at the 1994 Royal Rumble and had not been seen since, so the WWE(F) has this spoof put together staring the master of spoof'ers' Leslie Neilson, apparently searching around the world for The Undertaker! One of the cheesiest lines ever has to be 'the girls were feeling macho', *cuts to a clip of ladies rubbing Macho Man Randy Savage's arms!* You just couldn't make this stuff up... well... someone obviously could! Some classic moments included on this disc have to be Shawn's 'Lost My Smile' speech, the 'Pillman's Got A Gun' segment that a lot of people believed to be real at the time, (and a terrified looking Kevin Kelly reporting from outside Pillman's home can't have helped!) and Michaels Vs Owen Hart. Shawn collapses at the end of this match and isn't seen again until the 1996 Royal Rumble! The classic 'Bret Speaks His Mind' promo and Christmas with DX will be clips most have seen before but are definatly worth watching again! No Holds Barred between Mankind and The Undertaker is a lot better than 90% of the matches on the recent '15-0' Undertaker DVD that I reviewed previously! There're aren't many segments I'd advise you to fast forward through which I haven't been able to say about a for a DVD that I've reviewed in a long time... ok I skipped Sable In A Sack, but for the most part this disc is a start-to-finish trip down memory lane! Lots of clips, matches and some great footage that a lot of fans will not have seen before. A great start to this four-disc set making me extremely eager to watch disc 2!
