Newsflash

The PPV numbers are in for WrestleMania 24, and they are considerably lower than wwe and Floyd Mayweather expected. WrestleMania 24 drew 1,058,000 buys which works out to $23.8 million. This is less than last year’s 1,200,000 buys and $24.4 million for WrestleMania 23. The numbers were released this morning with WWE’s first quarter earnings report, which had the company listed as pulling in $19.5 million in net earnings over the first quarter of 2008.

RQW TV Tapings - March 9th, Northfleet, First matches announced inside PDF Print E-mail

The Fleet Leisure & Sports Club in Northfleet, Kent will once again rock to the sights and sounds of Real Quality Wrestling as RQW returns on March 9th.

The Champion Arrives, The Vigilante Challenges
The new RQW Heavyweight Champion, Ulf Herman will make his first title defence and, indeed, his first appearance in an RQW ring.

His first challenger will be -The Vigilante- Jonny Moss, who won the first shot at Herman’s belt by winning a spectacular round-robin tournament last month and you can see exactly how over the next few weeks, courtesy of RQW TV on realqualitywrestling.com. -The Vigilante- became in instant favourite with fans in attendance, thanks to his no-nonsense, take-no-prisoners style and, as he and Herman collide for the first time ever, it seems safe to expect some of the most hard-hitting action ever to grace an RQW ring.

Revenge is a Dish Best Served… Twice
As seen on this week’s episode of RQW TV, The Iron Lions have made their presence well-and-truly felt with a brutal attack on The damned Nation’s mentor, Gabriel Grey. Grey was left laying broken and helpless in the ring after Andy Boy Simmonz & James Tighe double-teamed the manager of the Tag Team Champions and knocked him out cold with a hockey helmet-assisted double headbutt.

Since then, The Lions have expressed no remorse over the attack, which has only served to anger damned Nation members Majik and Dragon Aisu even further. After the champions demanded retribution for the heinous assault, RQW management have signed individual matches for March 9th. James Tighe will face Majik, while Andy Simmonz will take on Dragon Aisu. You can be sure The damned Nation will take this opportunity to attempt to exact some serious revenge on the Iron Lions.

Stixx out, Mystery Man in
After months of back and forth tricks, needling and one-upmanship, Spud & -The Specialist- Mark Sloan were finally to get their hands on -The Bombay Dream- Ross Jordan and his associate, -The Heavyweight House of Pain- Stixx on March 9th. However, things are not always so simple…

So confident was he of winning last month’s round-robin tournament, that Stixx removed himself from the match so he could be 100% focussed on facing Ulf Herman… only he didn’t win the tournament... Quick to act, Jordan found himself a replacement and speculation now runs rampant as to who that may be as Jordan steadfastly refuses to disclose any details.

So now, RQW’s resident underdogs Spud & Sloan have the deck stacked against them even further as, on March 9th, they will step into the ring with -The Bombay Dream- and an unknown quantity. Can they prevail? There’s only one way to find out…

Hell Hath No Fury…
Jetta and Sweet Saraya have developed a bitter rivalry over recent months, stemming from Saraya inserting herself as special referee in the RQW Women’s championship match between -Coventry’s Loudest- and -The Croatian Panther- Wesna.

Jetta cried foul, claiming that Saraya’s biased officiating cost her the victory and last month, added further fuel to the fire.

In spite of Saraya’s angry demands, when these two face off on March 9th in Northfleet, the match will have a referee and will have rules. Whether either party will adhere to said rules remains to be seen…

Think You Can Last Five Minutes with -The Bad Boy of British Wrestling-? Step Up…
That again will be the challenge to any wrestler at the Fleet Leisure & Sports Club as Jon Ryan’s £10,000 Submission Challenge will continue on March 9th. The rules are simple: survive five minutes in the ring with Ryan without submitting and take home £10,000.

After Ryan added three more victims to his long list last month, who will be brave (or some may say foolish) enough to step up on March 9th?

A New Thriller?
Following their impressive debut match last month against Maximum Head, Gilligan Gordon's combination of "The Star Attraction" Mark Haskins & "The Physical Specimen" Joel Redman will once again be in action on March 9th.

Rumours persist, however, that Haskins and Redman are not the only members of Gordon’s stable. When pressed for comment, Gordon himself offered the following: -It’s true; there are more than two Thrillers and on March 9th, Real Quality Wrestling will meet its newest real quality wrestler. We are The Thrillers and we are the future!-

Can -Mr. Bad Attitude- Halt the Rise of -The UK Luchador-?
After an inauspicious debut in January, in which he fell in defeat to Tail End Charlie, then came out on the wrong end of an altercation with Mark Sloan, an angry -Mr. Bad Attitude- Martin Kirby returns to RQW action on March 9th. His opponent, -The UK Luchador- El Ligero, is in the midst of a resurgence with two back-to-back wins under his belt courtesy of a devastating new Arriba Driver finishing manoeuvre.

Can Kirby gain the victory he desperately craves or will Ligero claim another in his continued rise?

Message Begins… Tail End Charlie in Action on March 9th… Stop…
The Real Quality Wrestling offices have received a telegram (yes, a telegram) informing all that the 1940s superstar, Tail End Charlie will again go into battle on March 9th in Northfleet. No details on an opponent yet, but you can bet it will be someone who deserves to have their ears boxed by this jolly good chap.
