UFC and DREAM vet Kuniyoshi Hironaka got his second win in as many
months at Saturday's Cage Force 11 in Tokyo, dropping former Olympic
wrestler Katsuhiko Nagata with a right straight before finishing him
off at 3:41 of the opening frame. The ADCC-bound Keita "K-Taro"
Nakamura and PRIDE vet Daiju Takase picked up decision wins. Eight-year
veteran and "The Ultimate Fighter 4" competitor Jorge Rivera (16-7 MMA,
5-5 UFC) recently signed a new four-fight contract with the UFC,
according to a new report from the Boston Herald. Rivera's April
split-decision win over Nissen Osterneck, his 10th for the UFC,
completed his prior contract. The 37-year-old has been rehabbing an
injured left shoulder since the April win. Over the weekend, the fight
between Rich Clementi and Kyle Jensen ended prematurely when Clementi
suffered a broken clavicle at just :45 seconds in the first round.
Clementi and Jensen came after each other early, and after a clinch it
was Clementi who went for a throw, but ended up crashing on the mat
himself as Jensen reversed the move. As Jensen worked to improve his
position, Clementi yelled up to referee Mark Matheny that he broke his
collarbone, and immediately the fight was stopped. Also Micah Miller,
brother of Cole Miller, defeated J. C. Pennington via rear naked choke
in the second round. Drew 'The Master' Fickett did not pass his
pre-fight physical and was not permitted to compete by the Arizona
Commission for his Rage in the Cage 129 bout with Shannon Ritch.
Apparently he showed up drunk to the event and was not allowed to
compete. Source: gerweck.net Credit: A1 Wrestling Newsletter
