Force One Presents "Pledge of Allegience 2" on May 3rd!
Force One Pro Wrestling celebrates their one year anniversary of the first show on May 3rd, when they present "Pledge of Allegience 2 - These Colors Donââ,¬â"¢t Run", at Hamilton Hall in Egg Harbor City, NJ.
Commissioner Tommy Cairo has pulled out all of the stops in an effort to make this the most exciting Force One Show in their brief, but exciting history.
The Force One Heavyweight Championship will be on the line that evening as current champ Dangerous Danny Doring puts the belt on the line in a rematch against the very popular Breaker Morant. Doring stole the victory over Morant in March.
Will he be lucky again on May 3rd?
The Latin high flyer, Panther, renews his feud from the last show against "The Pretty Hate Machine" Jason Gotti. These 2 guys were in the semi finals for the newly created Force One Iron League championship, but their hatred for each other cost them a run for the title.
At the last show, Millionaire Ted Jr. challenged his protege Diego DeMarco to a match against the much larger & tougher Rockinââ,¬â"¢ Rebel, with the stipulation that if he could beat Rebel, heââ,¬â"¢d gain his freedom from the Million Dollar Stable, and join his friend Jimmy Clydesdale. Ted sabotaged his own match by accident, and Diego was freed. After the match, however, Ted, Rebel and Razor Rivera attacked Diego, but Diegoââ,¬â"¢s buddy Ryu Lee made the save. Cairo has ordered a match between DeMarco and Lee, and Rebel and Razor. Thereââ,¬â"¢s a rumor that the motorcycle gang that attended the last show has issues with Rebel, and plan on making their presence known at this show. One can only guess what they have in mind on May 3rd.
This night will also mark the debut of several new Force One stars.
Ricky Reyes opens the door with Force One with a very tough opponent, "The Midnight Idol" Nicky Benz. Reyes is an impressive wrestler, having had successful runs with Ring of Honor, CZW, and Pro Wrestling Unplugged. Benz is more than equal to the task, as heââ,¬â"¢ll be fresh off a dark match appearance on Monday Night RAW.
Also debuting that evening is former WWE developmental talent Danny Inferno. He has had a stellar career on the indy circuit, culminating in his time with the WWE. Danny left because he missed the indy scene in New Jersey, and Force One is happy to have him. Heââ,¬â"¢ll take on the VERY tough and always in the mix for the heavyweight belt, Patch, along with his manager, "The Solar Powered Love Machine" JADEN. A win over a top contender like Patch could put Inferno right to the top as contender for the Heavyweight Championship.
Force One will be proud to place the newly created Iron League championship on one of the two finalists for this prestigious belt. Tommy Force (with JADEN) won a 3 way match, and Mike Reed was victorious in his semi final match, and this could prove to be the match of the evening, as both competitors match well against each other.
The alliance of Crazii Shea and "The Hybrid" Josh Adams (also known as Bass Anarchy) had an impressive debut on the March show against the high flying team of RV1 and Chiki Cortes (aka High Impact, with their bodyguard, Angel). Cairo has ordered a rematch between the two.
Junior Heavyweight Champion Judas Young has become one of the most popular wrestlers in Force One, and his recent victory over "Sure Thing" Ryan Wing brought him to the forefront of the Force One roster. Wing was impressive in his loss, however, and Tommy Cairo has ordered a rematch between these two seasoned veterans. Young will also be coming off an appearance on RAW that week, and weââ,¬â"¢re sure his energy will be carried to the Force One show.
Doors will open at 6:30 pm that evening, with an official 7:30 pm bell time. Keep in mind, however, that two of our newer students will work a "dark match" during that time.
Also appearing that evening: Commissioner Tommy Cairo, "Pryme Time" Amy Lee, referrees Just Johnny, Mike Walker, and Spanky 1-2-3, ring announcer Phil Varlese, the lovely Nicole, The White Lotus, and the staff & students of Force One.
There will be many more surprises that evening, so this will be one you wonââ,¬â"¢t want to miss!
Tickets for this anniversary show are only $12, and can be purchased at the door on the night of the show, or by calling 732-604-9927. Remember, Hamilton Hall, 528 Philadelphia Ave, Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215.

AAW SATURDAY IN BERWYN - DEFINING MOMENT '08!
----------------------------------------------------------

AAW is back at the Eagles Club (6309 26th Street) in Berwyn, IL this Saturday night for "Defining Moment '08." At intermission, we'll have tickets available for the 7/5 SHIMMER taping (including the last few front row tickets), as well as SHIMMER DVDs for only $10 each (up through Vol. 14) and Roster Albums just $5 each. Below are all the details for the show.

The road to Scars and Stripes IV begins this Saturday night 5/3 as AAW returns to the Berwyn Eagles Club for another huge event as we present "Defining Moment 08". The show features two big title matches and the return of the former AAW tag team champs. Let's take a closer look at the card.

TAG TEAM CHALLENGE MATCH
THE MURDER CITY MACHINE GUNS
Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin
vs
ADRENALINE OVERDOSE
Shane Hollister and Bryce Benjamin

The Machine Guns return after their unprecedented run with the AAW tag titles last year. They will take on the exciting young team of Benjamin and Hollister who were in line to face Sabin and Shelley for the belts back in December until an injury sidelined Benjamin and removed them from the number one contender spot. Now Adrenaline Overdose gets their chance to prove to everyone they can hang with one of the top teams in the world and a victory Saturday night would no doubt catapult them to the upper echelon of tag team wrestling. Both teams like to keep a lightning fast pace and this match has the makings to be one of the most exciting in AAW history. Will the MCMG's return to their winning ways or will AOD take a giant step forward in their careers? Expect an electric atmosphere in the Eagles Club for this one.
AAW HERITAGE TITLE
JIMMY JACOBS (c)
vs
EGOTISTICO FANTASTICO w/ Billy Whack

A highly anticipated match up between two of wrestling's most decorated young stars. Ego has been impressive since his return to AAW and Billy Whack wants revenge on Jacobs who took him out of the company last year. The Heritage champion has shown he can be sadistic and will do whatever it takes to keep his prized title. This will no doubt be the biggest challenge Ego has faced since his comeback but rest assured he wants to add the AAW Heritage title to his list of accomplishments.

AAW TAG TEAM TITLES
THE NORTHSTAR EXPRESS (c)
Ryan Cruz and Darin Corbin w/ Joey Eastman
vs
THE PHOENIX TWINS
Tweek and Dash Phoenix

A situation that has been brewing for months comes to head this Saturday with the AAW tag team titles on the line. In the middle of this issue is Joey Eastman who at one time was the manager of both teams. After the NSE won the tag titles in controversial fashion there was no denying the Twins were put on the backburner. The fact that Tweek and Dash had earned the respect of the AAW fans did not sit well with Eastman and though he insisted there were no problems in his stable it was apparent that the Twins wanted their shot at the gold. Last month the Twins not only publically fired Eastman but humiliated him in the center of the ring. This has not sat well with Eastman who has promised Corbin and Cruz will not only retain their titles this Saturday but will also humiliate the Phoenix Twins. Expect a highly competitive match as these teams fight it out to prove once and for all who is the best tag team in AAW.

CHANDLER MCCLURE INVITATIONAL BATTLE ROYAL

The "Miracle Man" is back and has announced he needs a step up in competition. Therefore he will hold the first ever Chandler McClure Invitational Battle Royal Saturday night. McClure has hand picked all the participants who will compete for the chance to face Chandler one on one and Chandler claims only the best of the best will be selected. Talk in the lockeroom is that McClure is ducking Eric Priest since he cost him the Heritage Title. McClure claims he is not afraid to face The Gold Standard, but not until he is fully back in ring shape. This match will be interesting to say the least.

ALSO APPEARING:

TYLER BLACK
SILAS YOUNG
MDOGG20 MATT CROSS
ARIK CANNON
RYAN BOZ
DAN LAWRENCE
DEREK ST. HOLMES w/ Candi Summers
DANNY DANIELS
TRIK DAVIS
MAREK BRAVE
KEITH WALKER
ERIC PRIEST
SKULLKRUSHER
KROTCH w/ Nikki

SHIMMER OFFICE NOTEBOOK FOR 5/1
----------------------------------------------------------

Coming out of the Volumes 17 & 18 taping this past Saturday, here is the latest from the SHIMMER office...

* Ring of Honor announced in the 4/30 edition of its Business Notes that new SHIMMER Champion MsChif will be booked more frequently on ROH events. ROH recognizes the SHIMMER Title as the championship for its women's division.

* X-rays taken on Saturday night revealed that Allison Danger's collarbone was fractured during the Volume 17 main event. She is expected to be sidelined for roughly six weeks, give or take a few, depending on how quickly it heals.

* Ring of Honor will have both SHIMMER Volume 15 and SHIMMER Volume 16 available on www.rohwrestling.com this Friday, May 2nd. Each title will be available at a cost of $14.95. They will be part of the merchandise update, scheduled to be added to the site during the early afternoon.

* Ticket orders placed online for the 7/5 taping during the past several weeks were mailed out this morning, Thursday, 5/1. If you are among those who ordered tickets for 7/5 online, look for them to arrive in the mail during the next few days.

* There are still a few front row reserved seats available for the 7/5 taping, at a cost of $50 each, plus $1 shipping per ticket. If you are interested in securing front row for the 7/5 taping, E-mail \n This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it href="mailto:dave_prazak%40yahoo.com">dave_prazak@yahoo.com to inquire about whether or not your ticket request can still be accommodated.

* During early April, SHIMMER Women Athletes, LLC signed an agreement with TNA Entertainment, LLC, which permits TNA contracted talent to appear on SHIMMER live events and the DVD series. Though TNA talent may appear on the initial run of each Volume of the DVD series, the matches involving TNA talent cannot appear on SHIMMER DVD titles in retail. As a result, when the time comes for the retail release of SHIMMER footage filmed after the agreement was signed, those matches featuring TNA talent will not be included. At that point, the retail DVD titles will cease to be full Volumes, and will simply become compilation DVDs of matches from several Volumes, minus the matches involving TNA talent. This will obviously make the first run of each DVD title more valuable, as they will become the only method of seeing the complete show.

* Big Vision Entertainment will release SHIMMER Volume 6 (featuring matches filmed on 5/21/06 and 10/21/06) in retail on May 20th. The BVE version of Volume 6 is available directly from Big Vision Entertainment at www.bvdvd.com already.

* Plans are in the works for several new SHIMMER t-shirts, including a few wrestler specific t-shirts, to be offered by both SHIMMER itself as well through the wrestlers directly, at live events which they appear on around the world. Look for more details concerning new official SHIMMER t-shirts during the coming weeks.

* The 4/26 taping was, financially, the most successful live event in SHIMMER company history. The live gate, merchandise sales, and concessions totaled the largest figure as of yet for a SHIMMER taping. A big thank you to everyone who attended the event and contributed to a successful night.

* Another thank you goes out to Alan Evans of Milwaukee, who is the creator of the Rival Angels comic at www.rivalangels.com. Fans with front row seats to the 4/26 taping received a complimentary Rival Angels comic as an unexpected bonus.

* Nykk of The SHIMMER Forum premiered his latest SHIMMER music video on the video screen prior to the start of the 4/26 taping. The video, titled "The Addictive Sound," can be viewed at http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ts-ECap9vqo right now for free.

* Michael Anthony's Restaurant & Bar, which has been a sponsor of SHIMMER in Berwyn since the beginning, was very pleased with the turnout for the 4/26 after party. Michael Anthony's recently underwent a change in management, and things were run in a much more efficient manner on 4/26 than they had been in the past. Look for future after parties to remain at Michael Anthony's, including post-show on 7/5.

* Former SHIMMER performer Josie has made the decision to cease active SHIMMER competition, in order to pursue other goals in the pro wrestling industry. SHIMMER wishes her the best of luck in her future away from the organization.

* Wesna Busic gave a tremendous effort during her matches on 4/26, and proved why she is one of the top female wrestlers in the world today. SHIMMER plans on bringing Wesna back for future shows.

* Ashley Lane & Nevaeh earned spots on all future SHIMMER DVD tapings with their performances in tag team matches on 4/26.

* Canadian performers Jennifer Blake, Danyah, and Cat Power have all been invited back for the 7/5 SHIMMER DVD taping in Berwyn, IL. All three women showed their dedication by making the long trip in from Ontario, and then did well in their tryout matches on 4/26. We look forward to seeing what each of these women are capable of during future outings in SHIMMER competition, as they continue to grow as performers.

* Nicole Matthews impressed both management and the rest of the locker room with her outings in singles matches on 4/26, and will be given bigger opportunities in SHIMMER in the future.

* SHIMMER is always on the lookout for new female talent to add to the mix on the DVD series. Experienced women wrestlers interested in submitting demo materials for review should contact \n This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it href="mailto:dave_prazak%40yahoo.com">dave_prazak@yahoo.com for further information.

* Following the 4/26 SHIMMER taping in Berwyn, IL, SHIMMER management came to the conclusion that the future DVD tapings must be shorter in length. The difficult aspect of each taping is that two full length DVDs must be filmed during the course of the show, which means it's double the length of a normal pro wrestling event. The 4/26 taping began at 4pm, and, with a 30 minute intermission, did not wrap up until 11pm. Recognizing the fact that it is exhausting for the live crowd to be there for such a long period of time, a concerted effort will be made in the future to wrap up the tapings by 10pm. The goal is to shoot two DVD releases, each of approximately 150-160 minutes in length.

* The production process has already begun for the Volumes 17 & 18 DVDs, filmed on 4/26 in Berwyn, IL. We hope to have these titles available quickly, without a lengthy waiting period like in the past. Look for Volumes 17 & 18 to be available as soon as a gap in the ROH production schedule allows.

MERCEDES SIDELINED ONCE AGAIN
----------------------------------------------------------

Mercedes Martinez, who made her return to SHIMMER action this past Saturday, has made the decision to take an additional month off from active wrestling to deal with her recent back injury. She posted the following on her MySpace blog on Wednesday...

well well well...
if the shoulder injury didnt keep me out, i guess a back injury will.I have injured my back at my real job and i was cleared last week as many shimmer fans know. however, i have sought a 2nd opinion due the nature of the injury and i was told to stay out a extra month due to having 3 bulging disks in my lower back.
To prevent herniating my disks, i have to rest my back and have limited lifting duties and bending as well as wrestling.
unfortunately i have to cancel all my shows until further evaluation and this is another setback to my comeback, however this is for my safety and my health always comes first.
thank you all for the understanding and support.
love mercedes

STATEMENT CONCERNING REBECCA KNOX
----------------------------------------------------------

The following statement was issued by SHIMMER management on Monday aftenroon, concerning Rebecca Knox:

I had debated about posting anything concerning this after the show, but since I had so many fans asking me about it at the after party, I felt I should be totally honest and up front with our fans concerning Rebecca Knox.

We booked Rebecca Knox for April 26th. She didn't come. The exact details of her thought process, or what's going on otherwise with her in life, I'm not exactly sure. All I can say is Rebecca was in contact with both Danger and I roughly six weeks ago and agreed to do the show, and we had everything set for her return. This was about the same time that ChickFight announced her to return on their show which is coming up this weekend in the UK. Shortly thereafter, she ceased regularly keeping in contact with wrestling people in general.

We received no word from Rebecca prior to the show that would indicate that she had changed her mind, or that she wasn't coming. We just adjusted the card on Saturday afternoon to accomodate her absence.

I got a text message today (Monday) from someone who heard back from her about not being at SHIMMER and concerning whether or not she plans on showing up for ChickFight this weekend, and the message that she sent to that person was "right now, pro wrestling isn't for me." Please don't take this as a "she's not going to be at ChickFight" announcement, because maybe she will be at their show this weekend. It's closer to home. That is between Rebecca and ChickFight management to settle. I hope, for the sake of the fans who bought tickets to their show when she was announced for it, that she does indeed make it.

I wanted to post this now to give some sort of an explanation to fans of hers who were perhaps wondering "why didn't SHIMMER bring back Rebecca Knox for 4/26?" We simply book the talent that we wish to use for each show. After that, it's up to the talent to actually honor their commitment.

We wish Rebecca well in her future, whether she decides that it will involve professional wrestling, or if she chooses to put her focus on other interests from this point forward.
