London, England (March 11) – Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling made waves overseas Wednesday when tickets for their first ever tour of the United Kingdom presented by Bravo June 13-15 beat all projected first day sales figures. The rush for tickets was so large that it crashed the server hosting the online sales system for over an hour.

Gold, Silver and Bronze series ringside seats at each of the three live events in Liverpool, Coventry and Essex sold out instantly, and the initial demand from European TNA fans sold more than 50 percent of all available tickets in one day.

“I have never seen anything like this in all my years of promoting big wrestling shows in this country,” UK Wrestling promoter Alex Shane said,

“The system we use for tickets is designed to handle a large amount of traffic so when the system went down I figured it must have been a software error. It wasn’t until the various box offices begun to call me to tell me that their phones were jammed solid that I knew something big was taking place. With well over half of all available tickets going in less than five hours, I think it is safe to say that TNA has a new home away from home in the United Kingdom,” Shane said.

Phone lines at venue box offices faced similar problems as the internet-based ordering system, as orders jammed incoming lines throughout the day, forcing additional staff to be brought in to handle demand. Fans waited outside arenas for tickets as early as 5 a.m. local time.

TNA officials confirmed that all of the demand issues with the ticketing service had been resolved, and fans who were turned away initially could try again throughout the week.

“We are extremely happy with the response that we had today from TNA fans in the UK,” said Andy Barton, TNA Senior Vice President.

“If you’re one of the many fans that couldn’t get through when the server was down, we apologize for the inconvenience, and hopefully you were able to log back on and make your purchase,” Barton said.
