Newsflash

The PPV numbers are in for WrestleMania 24, and they are considerably lower than wwe and Floyd Mayweather expected. WrestleMania 24 drew 1,058,000 buys which works out to $23.8 million. This is less than last year’s 1,200,000 buys and $24.4 million for WrestleMania 23. DOWN!
Due to an onslaught of web traffic, TNA's website was down during the majority of the first hour of last night's live Impact broadcast. Instead of opening the voting for the TNA Knockouts match earlier in the week, TNA opted to start the voting for the match at the start of Thursday night's live Impact broadcast at 9:00 P.M. Additionally, they had fans go to the website at the start of the show to vote for the stipulation for the Booker T vs. Robert Roode match. The site was back up by 10:00 p.m. and the matches went on as planned.

DID NOT?
TNA's first live Impact broadcast didn't totally go off without a hitch as at least two technical difficulties occurred during the show. During Robert Roodes' ring entrance, a black screen reading "We're experiencing technical difficulties. Please stay tuned." was shown for about a second. Additionally, prior to the Karen Angle interview segment, TNA played a non-descript video which at first glance appeared to be a commercial. From the looks of things, it appeared to be an introductory vignette on wrestler Consequences Creed, who signed with TNA back in October. There was no sound during the video and it appeared to be abruptly cut off. Also, there was no follow-up on what it was from the announcers.

FREE TICKETS!
During the day of TNA's Destination X pay-per-view at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, VA, one of the Hebner brothers (probably Dave because Earl was working as a referee, not to mention that he lives nearby) was seen handing out free tickets to anyone passing by and interested in seeing the event. The show drew apporoximately 3,200 fans, although it is unknown as to how many of them actually paid.

HIT BY A FISH!
During the Shark Boy & Curry Man vs. Team 3D Fish Market Brawl match at Destination X, a lady about ten rows back was hit right in the face by a flying fish thrown by Brother Ray. Security immediately attended to her, took her backstage and gave her ice. As if that isn't enough, there was another flying fish incident courtesy of Brother Ray. A production assistant was trying to clean off Mike Tenay and Don West's broadcast table when another flying fish -- again thrown by Ray -- hit her right in the back of the head and she smashed face-first into the table.
