WHY THEY LOST THE TITLES- Tomko has major heat on him. Tomko & AJ Styles lost their tag title belts as punishment for Tomko working a show all the way in Osaka, Japan the day before Lockdown. TNA officials asked him not to work the Japan show the day before the pay-per-view, but he did anyway, so as punishment they took the belts away. Tomko & Styles were scheduled to work a program with LAX, but that appears to be off the cards. source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter PASSED- TNA's Matt Morgan has passed on becoming an American Gladiator. One of the problems was the contract was for up to six years, which Morgan did not want to commit to. Source: slam wrestling GONE BALD!! TNA mobile issued a text message to subscribers touting "rumors" that one of the Knockouts will have her head shaved bald per the stipulations of an upcoming match. Source: prowrestling. TICKETS- Tickets are on-sale now for TNA's tour of New York and Connecticut in May. Shows are May 16 in Binghamton, May 17 in Poughkeepsie, and May 18 in Wallingford, Ct. Source: pwtorch.com DID- The general feeling is that the Lockdown pay-per-view did double the number of buys the usual TNA PPV generates. Of course, no numbers have been released or confirmed. Source: gerweck.net DONE? TNA Knockout Ms. Payton Banks looks to be done with the company for the time being after splitting off with Robert Roode following their loss at Lockdown. One source said, "She was in over her head." There's still the possibility that she could be brought back to TNA, but not at the moment. Banks had been working without a contract as she was on a nightly deal with TNA. She wrestles as "Rain" for some Midwest indy leagues. source: wrestle-zone. LAYING CLAIM- TNA can finally lay claim to Impact beating Raw & SmackDown in the ratings, at least in Australia. In its second week in Australia, TNA Impact garnered 43,000 viewers, compared to SmackDown with 36,000 & Raw with 38,000. source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter HAPPY- TNA management was happy with the Samoa Joe-Kurt Angle title match, but acknowledge that some fans didn't like the MMA style. Source: gerweck.net INCIDENT- Saturday night in Lowell, Massachusetts, there was some sort of incident involving Awesome Kong that led to paramedics & police being called to the scene. Sources describe the issue relating to a "personal problem." Kong was taken to a local hospital, but released a short while later. Kong managed to make her scheduled appearance at Lockdown. TNA officials was initially concerned and later upset about the incident. Kong was said to be embarrassed and very apologetic to TNA brass the next day. source: wrestle-zone. CODE- The ticket pre-sale code for TNA's Slammiversary is LETHAL. Pre-sale Tickets will go on sale this Thursday morning and end Thursday night. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday. There will be another pre-sale starting tomorrow morning using code BOOKER at Ticketmaster. Source: pwinsider.com A BOOK- Jim Cornette is writing a book documenting the Midnight Express. The book will feature tons of inside information on the last days of Jim Crockett Promotions before it was bought out by Ted Turner, the first years of WCW, attendance figures for 60% of the shows the Midnight Express were on in the late 80s, newspaper clippings, original booking plans, and more. The book will be released later this year. source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter HOW MANY? For the 4/10 Impact show, the TNA Knockouts garnered the highest quarter hour rating on the show yet again. The match featuring Angelina Love (with Velvet Sky in her corner) vs. Roxxi Laveaux gained 143,000 viewers and was the most viewed portion of the show with a 1.10 rating. The show drew an overall rating of 1.00. In the past four months or so, out of all the talent in TNA, the tandem of Angelina Love & Velvet Sky have been involved in the most Impact quarter hour rating winners. In other ratings news coming out of the 4/10 show, the main event featuring the return of the Wolfpac -- Kevin Nash & Sting -- actually lost viewers. Nash & Sting vs. Team 3D lost 97,000 viewers and finished with a 0.97 rating. The TNA in-ring debut of Consequences Creed lost 104,000 viewers, Steiner & Petey vs. Shelley & Sabin stayed even, the Kurt Angle promo gained 78,000 viewers, a promo featuring BG James & Kip James and the match between Eric Young & Black Reign lost 104,000 viewers. source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter DELAYED- The iMPACT! Matt Morgan, who's being pushed as a 7 foot monster on TNA programming, is actually about 6 foot 8 inches. source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter DEFEATED- Samoa Joe d. Kurt Angle to retain the TNA World Title this past Friday in Newburgh, NY for Northeast Wrestling. The event drew over 1,000 fans. Source: gerweck.net NAME CHANGE-AGAIN! Jacqueline Moore, who's gone through five or six name variations thus far in TNA, is now going by her old WWE ring name again, Jacqueline.
