The PPV numbers are in for WrestleMania 24, and they are considerably lower than wwe and Floyd Mayweather expected. WrestleMania 24 drew 1,058,000 buys which works out to $23.8 million. This is less than last year’s 1,200,000 buys and $24.4 million for WrestleMania 23. The numbers were released this morning with WWE’s first quarter earnings report, which had the company listed as pulling in $19.5 million in net earnings over the first quarter of 2008.

PPV UPDATE-
Total Nonstop Action's Sacrifice PPV broadcasts live one week from tonight from Universal Studios in Orlando, FL. Advertised: Samoa Joe defends the TNA World Heavyweight Title in a three-way against Scott Steiner and Kurt Angle; a women's battle royal to earn a shot at the TNA Women's Title; and a tag team tournament to determine new TNA World Tag Team Champions, including Team 3-D, Christian Cage & Rhino, LAX, and A.J. Styles & Super Eric, among others to be broadcast in a drawing on the May 8 edition of iMPACT.

NAMED-
Sunday's issue of The Tennessean notes that TNA has named Steve Allison as their new Cheif Marketing Officer. Allison previously held the same position for Midway Games the creators of TNA's upcoming video game. He has held the position in TNA now for about a month or so.

DEAL-
Shimmer has worked a deal with TNA to allow TNA-contracted talent to appear at their DVD taping. Their matches can be shown on the initial run of DVDs usually sold on the Shimmer website, but can not appear on the DVDs that are in retail stores.
