Newsflash

The PPV numbers are in for WrestleMania 24, and they are considerably lower than wwe and Floyd Mayweather expected. WrestleMania 24 drew 1,058,000 buys which works out to $23.8 million. This is less than last year’s 1,200,000 buys and $24.4 million for WrestleMania 23. The numbers were released this morning with WWE’s first quarter earnings report, which had the company listed as pulling in $19.5 million in net earnings over the first quarter of 2008.

Extras.....what extras?

Starting out his WrestleMania winning streak way back in 1991 when he defeated Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka and covering all 15 right up until last years championship match against Batista, this DVD is definatly one for any Undertaker fan, past or present. Obviously containing 15 matches from the Snuka one to matches with his 'brother' Kane, Mark Henry, Batista, Randy Orton and Psycho Sid among others, it's three hours of Undertaker victories on the grandest stage of them all!

Personally I wouldn't buy it. I’m not the biggest Undertaker fan and for me this was quite painful to sit through. I can understand the logic of releasing this DVD but a 'Best of...' would have been so much better. The Undertaker has had some great matches and unfortunately for this DVD, most of them weren't at WrestleMania!

Starting out with the montage I’m pretty sure they used for last year's 'Mania (Obviously with number 15 added) and then a short run-down with an annoying voice over that sounds like the guy from the beginning of the A-Team! The same annoying Voice-Over gives us a brief history between each match but other than that there is no commentary; no 'superstar' interviews not even an appearance from Bruce Pritchard who is on every other DVD the WWE release!

I found most of the matches to be below standard compared to some Undertaker matches I have seen, and come on, A-Train is in one of them doesn't that speak volumes? The better matches include the one against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 21 where I feel Orton really stepped up and did a great job for a young guy against a legend on such a big stage! I also enjoyed the Brother vs. Brother match at WrestleMania 14 and the interpromotional match he had against Kane at WrestleMania 20 was also watchable.

My 5 year old is a HUGE fan of wrestling and he enjoyed seeing some of the older Undertaker matches but really wouldn't believe me when I told him it was the same Undertaker we saw last week on Smackdown! I do have to say the quality is very good considering a lot of these have been transferred from video to DVD they have done an excellent job.

If you are a fan of The Undertaker then I do recommend this DVD whole-heartedly. I think any Undertaker fan will sit from beginning to end and be enthralled seeing all the older matches, unfortunately, I’m not a fan and I didn't enjoy it all that much.
