Newsflash

The PPV numbers are in for WrestleMania 24, and they are considerably lower than wwe and Floyd Mayweather expected. WrestleMania 24 drew 1,058,000 buys which works out to $23.8 million. This is less than last year’s 1,200,000 buys and $24.4 million for WrestleMania 23. ORLANDO -- About 70,000 wrestling fans are expected to be in the Citrus Bowl Sunday night for WrestleMania, World Wrestling Entertainment's biggest event of the year.

As fans from all over the world were expected to fly into Orlando, they would know they are in the right place. The WrestleMania XXIV logo has been painted next to one of the runways at Orlando International Airport.

What WWE calls "The Greatest Stage of Them All," has set the tone for what Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said would be several days worth of events that would be very lucrative to the area.

"The sports commission estimates it will be between $25 million and $30 million of new spending here in the city of Orlando over the course of this week," Dyer said.

WWE said last year's WrestleMania 23 brought around $30 million to the Detroit area, when 80,000 people attended the event there.
