The PPV numbers are in for WrestleMania 24, and they are considerably lower than wwe and Floyd Mayweather expected. WrestleMania 24 drew 1,058,000 buys which works out to $23.8 million. This is less than last year’s 1,200,000 buys and $24.4 million for WrestleMania 23. The numbers were released this morning with WWE’s first quarter earnings report, which had the company listed as pulling in $19.5 million in net earnings over the first quarter of 2008.

WRESTLEMANIA 25 LOCATION RELEASED!
WWE issued a press release formally announcing the WrestleMania 25 PPV in Houston next April. WWE officials and Ric Flair traveled to Houston today to meet with more than 100 business leaders in the fourth-largest city in the U.S. to work on sponsorship agreements for WrestleMania.

Based on early returns, officials are predicting the pay-per-view buy number for WrestleMania 24 to be about 1.1 million buys, with 700,000 to 800,000 buys coming from North America.

LOOKING STRONG-
The 5/21 WWE show in Monterrey, Mexico is already sold out. Both house shows in Mexico City on 5/23 and 5/24 at Palacio de los Deportes have sold 12,000 tickets, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. This is good news for WWE, especially considering WWE charges higher prices for their tickets than CMLL and AAA.

KHALI OPENING A SCHOOL?
According to an article on Merinews.com, The Great Khali has plans to open up a wrestling school for children in Mumbai, India. Khali will soon be heading home to India for the first time in almost two years, and according to his brother, will be staying there for at least one month.

WRONG WAY?
Those that were rubbed the wrong way at the hall of fame ceremony by The Rock appear to be the "vocal minority." One of the guys that apparently complained was Steve Austin, who came to the hall of fame ceremony specifically to see Ric Flair's induction. Austin felt The Rock's lengthy speech cut Flair's speech time.

HAYES UPDATE-
PWInsider.com is reporting that Michael Hayes - who heads up the Smackdown! creative team - has been suspended for a total of sixty days for making an "explicitly insulting comment" towards Smackdown! Superstar Mark Henry. The incident happened during the WrestleMania week and PWInsider says that the company tried not to make a bid deal out of it by not announcing Hayes' suspension and saying instead that he was on vacation. However word travels fast in WWE land and eventually the real reason managed to find its way up to the surface.
