Newsflash

The PPV numbers are in for WrestleMania 24, and they are considerably lower than wwe and Floyd Mayweather expected. WrestleMania 24 drew 1,058,000 buys which works out to $23.8 million. This is less than last year’s 1,200,000 buys and $24.4 million for WrestleMania 23. The numbers were released this morning with WWE’s first quarter earnings report, which had the company listed as pulling in $19.5 million in net earnings over the first quarter of 2008.

AFTER RAW-
Regal came to the ring and said that since the fans disrespected him, they don't deserve to see an ending to the match. The match just ended, Orton left, they played HHH's music and HHH yelled at ringside at Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler, playing it up like he had been double-crossed.

DIVA GRABBED-
Maria was apparently grabbed by someone after the flight taking the Raw wrestlers back to the U.S. from the long European tour last week. The plane landed in Newark, New Jersey, before heading off to Greenville, SC for last week's Raw. Maria was very upset, loudly saying, "I can't believe he grabbed me like that. Who does he think he is?" Maria talked about making a formal complaint, but apparently didn't. Maria told fellow wrestler Umaga about the incident; Umaga asked where the guy was, but never found him. Maria was shaking and visibly upset well after the grabbing incident occurred.

FACE TURN-
Umaga may be turning babyface after being cheered in many cities during WWE's recent tour of Europe. That kind of explains why WWE put him a spot last week on Raw to get a pop by attacking "Barack Obama" and "Hillary Clinton."

NO PLANS?
Foyd Mayweather has recently been saying that there are no plans to return to WWE, but he is open to it, loved working with them, and is looking forward to working with them again. Mayweather said that he would only do it if he got the same deal he did for WrestleMania, which looks unlikely as things stand right now. The only way WWE could justify giving Floyd that same huge payoff would be if Oscar De La Hoya or Ricky Hatton got in the ring as well. WWE has likely learned from WCW's work with Dennis Rodman, who drew one of the biggest buyrates in history for his match against Karl Malone but barely drew any attention for his next match with Randy Savage.

FIRE ADAMLE!
At the SmackDown/ECW taping in Greensboro, NC last week, one person in attendance showed a "Fire Adamle" sign during the ECW broadcast. One of the tech guys jumped the rail to confisicate the sign. He said he needed the sign, although agreed with what was written on it. He said, "Even though I agree with you, we can't have that sign on TV." WWE now tapes ECW before SmackDown, so they were able to edit the sign off the show.

KNEE INJURY?
At the No Way Out pay-per-view two months ago, The Great Khali's translator Ranjin Singh was taken out on a stretcher after Undertaker kicked him off the cage wall during the Elimination Chamber match. He hasn't been seen on television since. It was presumed that his character was simply being written off TV, but in actuality, Singh had to take time off to tend a legitimate knee injury. Singh had knee surgery sometime in March. On his MySpace page, Singh posted photos of himself laying in a hospital bed showing off his heavily stitched up knee.

KHALI ARTICLE-
