The Rock Buys a New Mansion, Big WWE DVD Idea Nixed, WWE Lawsuit Update, Legendary Actor on WWE Legends House, Possible Female Host and More

WWE had a court date with Devin Nicholson scheduled for this week in Ottawa but it has been pushed back a few months. Nicholson, who was kicked out of a recent WWE live event, has reportedly filed a $6 million lawsuit against WWE for rescinding a contract offer, claiming he was discriminated against because he has Hepatitis C.

– According to Silvervison, the rumored “Best of WWE 1985-2004” DVD sets is not planned to be released this year and was just a project discussed within WWE.

– The Rock recently bought a $3.45 million, 13,154 square foot mansion in Southwest Ranches, Florida. The home has five bedrooms, seven baths, a pool, a home theater and more.

Actor Adam West of Batman fame posted a photo of himself with the cast of WWE Legends House. Apparently West filmed some footage for the show this week in California.

The photo shows Roddy Piper, Gene Okerlund, Howard Finkel, Hillbilly Jim, Pat Patterson, Jimmy Hart, Tony Atlas and Hacksaw Jim Duggan. The photo also shows singer Ashley Roberts of The Pussycat Dolls. It’s speculated that Ashley may be hosting the show.

Another celebrity linked to the show is comedian -Jeff Dye of MTV’s Money from Strangers show. No word yet on how Dye fits in but he was at the house filming footage this week.

WWE shipped 158,000 DVD units in January, down 16% from January 2011.

The Steve Austin DVD from last year has shipped 136,000 units total and the Oh My God! DVD set has shipped 113,000 units. The Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart Rivalry DVD is not listed among the biggest sellers for WWE so it appears that set was not a big seller.

– The new issue of Cosmopolitan magazine has an article on women’s pro wrestling and has comments from WWE Divas Alicia Fox, Eve Torres and Torrie Wilson.

– Word is that The Rock and John Cena will not have any physical contact until the March 26th RAW Supershow, the final show before WrestleMania 28.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is back with another blog update, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. In this entry, JR answered a number of questions sent in from his followers on Twitter. Here are some highlights of what JR said about:

When is Rey Mysterio returning to the ring? “Rey had major knee surgery and had had multiple knee surgeries in the past. I’d merely guess that he will be back in a few months but I have no way of knowing. It’s seemingly not going to be at WM28. It’s better to err on the side of caution when it comes to matters such as this.”

Does HBK being named referee to the HHH-Taker HIAC match take away from the match? “Of course not. I think it adds to the drama and poses many more questions than answers which is essential to the build to any major bout. @ShawnMichaels is a show stealer and to think that his presence at WrestleMania, the site of some of his greatest performances, won’t be impactful is absurd. The question is how impactful and to who? HBK has great history with both combatants which makes Shawn wearing the stripped shirt even more compelling.”

Who are two WWE superstars who seem to be catching on? “Cody Rhodes and Dolph Ziggler are both evolving nicely. I also think Jack Swagger has unlimited potential. In the territory days, these three would be prime examples of athletes who would earn success for a few years in various territories before being brought to WWE. The system has changed but taking time to evolve hasn’t. Many fans have no patience and many talents don’t put in the extra work in and out of the ring to get to the next level. These talents do and will be main event stars at some point unless injuries or other issues arise.”
