WWE’s website wrote the following about Chris Jericho’s return last night, giving a look at where they may be headed with the storyline:

“After weeks of cryptic “1-2-12” videos on Raw SuperShow, Chris Jericho made a shocking return and was warmly welcomed by the WWE Universe, greeting some with high-fives at ringside. As he urged them for more cheers, “#Y2J” instantly became the No. 1 worldwide trend on Twitter. But as the Superstar – who was dressed in a dazzling, light-up, blinged out jacket – prolonged his homecoming, the WWE Universe’s chants of “welcome back” soon turned to boos. A smiling Jericho exited without addressing the Memphis crowd, leaving the irritated WWE Universe wondering why he’s back.”

– A few of the WWE terms trending worldwide on Twitter last night were Brodus Clay, Undertaker, Chris Jericho, “Happy New Year Miz” and Hornswoggle during the final segment with Kane coming from under the ring.

– The Rock is scheduled to make another WWE TV appearance some time in the next few weeks. Rock has spent the past week in New Orleans filming his next movie Snitch. Rock will spend most of February promoting Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, which hits theaters on February 10th.

– WWE will be releasing a new eBook and softcover book in June called “My Greatest Match” by Jon Robison. The book will feature stories from various WWE talents discussing their favorite matches.

– WWE will tape week 44 of NXT and this week’s SmackDown tonight from the Verizon Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas. Confirmed for tonight’s tapings is Big Show vs. Daniel Bryan for the World Heavyweight Title and Booker T vs. Cody Rhodes for the Intercontinental Title. Randy Orton has been pulled from tonight’s listings and most likely will not be appearing. Advertised locally is Bryan vs. Show vs. Mark Henry.

– Former WWE Superstar Lance Storm noted on Twitter last night that he trained with Chris Jericho at his Storm Wrestling Academy in Canada to prepare for Jericho’s WWE return. He wrote:

“Since he’s back yes @IAmJericho did come back and train with me at SWA. We spent a couple days in the ring including a 17 min match #norust”

The rating from Friday’s final SmackDown of 2011 was delayed until later today due to the holiday. The RAW ratings from last night likely will be delayed until Wednesday.

– John Cena vs. Kane in a Last Man Standing Match has been announced for the WWE Supershow at Madison Square Garden on March 18th. CM Punk defending the WWE Title and Daniel Bryan defending the World Heavyweight Title is also advertised. Tickets go on-sale tomorrow morning with the pre-sale code WRESTLEMANIA.
